01

Purpose and pharmacy role

PillRocket is designed to facilitate lawful orders from licensed pharmacy partners. Prescription medicines are dispensed by the participating pharmacy, not by PillRocket, and only in accordance with applicable drug laws, licence conditions, and prescription requirements.

02

Medicines requiring a prescription

Under Rule 65 of the Drugs Rules, 1945, substances specified in Schedule H, Schedule H1, or Schedule X may not be sold by retail except on and in accordance with the prescription of a Registered Medical Practitioner. Schedule X also has additional prescription, storage, and record-keeping requirements.

  • A medicine marked Rx, XRx, NRx, or otherwise legally designated as prescription-only requires the applicable prescription and pharmacy checks.
  • Certain narcotic, psychotropic, Schedule X, or other highly regulated products may be unavailable if the required legal, storage, record-keeping, or delivery controls are not supported.

03

Prescription requirements

For Schedule H, H1, or X retail supply, the prescription must contain the details required by applicable law, including written, signed, and dated prescriber information and adequate patient, medicine, dose, and quantity details. The pharmacy may require additional identification or information needed to verify that the prescription was issued by a Registered Medical Practitioner.

PillRocket does not apply a universal six-month validity rule. Whether a prescription remains valid depends on its directions, medicine category, repeat instructions, date, pharmacy assessment, and applicable law. A pharmacy may reject a prescription that is stale, illegible, altered, inconsistent, or otherwise unsuitable for lawful dispensing.

04

Upload and pharmacy review

  • Upload a clear photograph, scan, or other permitted digital copy when the Platform requests it.
  • The licensed pharmacy partner reviews the prescription before dispensing and retains any records required by law.
  • PillRocket may transmit the prescription securely to the pharmacy and may block or cancel a request when a required prescription is not provided or is rejected by the pharmacy.
  • Schedule X prescriptions and other regulated categories may require additional records or original or duplicate handling by the pharmacy under applicable law.

05

Responsibility

The licensed pharmacy partner remains responsible for lawful dispensing and prescription verification. PillRocket does not independently prescribe medicines and does not replace the professional judgement or statutory duties of the pharmacist or Registered Medical Practitioner. Users must submit genuine prescriptions and must not alter or forge prescription information.

06

Temperature-sensitive products

At launch, PillRocket does not facilitate medicines or pharmaceutical products whose label or manufacturer instructions require continuous refrigerated, frozen, cold-chain, or other validated temperature-controlled storage or transportation. Standard rider delivery is not represented as a validated cold-chain service.

07

Medicines sold without a prescription

Medicines that may lawfully be sold without a prescription may be available without prescription upload, subject to the selling pharmacy’s classification, professional judgement, licence conditions, and applicable law. The absence of a prescription requirement does not mean self-medication is appropriate; users should seek medical advice when needed.
